Opening of the Stadtwerke Roller Festival at the Kiel Ostseekai on November 16th, 2022 Opening ceremony with live DJ, roller disco and a show program of the 1st Kiel roller and ice sports club.
On Wednesday at 5 p.m. the time had finally come: the 1st Stadtwerke Roller Festival in Kiel was opened. After the annual Kiel Ice Festival with a large ice rink for around 20 years, you now need roller skates or inline skates instead of ice skates. Because a large ice rink would have to be cooled in an energy-intensive manner, it was decided early on that there would be no ice rink, no ice festival and no ice skating in 2022. But roller skating at the 1st Kiel Roller Festival at the Ostseekai is at least as much fun.
The Stadtwerke Roller Festival will take place from November 16, 2022 to January 15, 2023. The almost 400 square meter rink directly at the Ostseekai is open daily (except Christmas Eve and New Year) and is located in a large tent in the same place as the Stadtwerke Kiel Ice Festival last year. You can roller-skate for around two months at the Ostseekai in the state capital of Kiel. You can rent roller skates in sizes 30-45 directly on site for a fee. Of course you can also bring your own roller skates. Or inline skates, because inline skates are also permitted on the track.
On the occasion of the grand opening ceremony of the Kiel Roller Festival 2022/2023, you could skate free of charge from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., you only had to pay a rental fee for the roller skates. Those who brought their own roller skates or inline skates could do their rounds on the roller skating rink at Kiel’s Ostseekai completely free of charge.
And if there is already such a large roller skating rink at the Ostseekai, then of course the professionals could not be missing. We are of course talking about the 1st Kiel roller and ice sports club and their choreography before the official release of the roller skating rink for visitors.
