New ferry: The new SFK electric ferry MS Dietrichsdorf arrived in Kiel from Rotterdam on February 29, 2024 and has been on the Hörn since arriving from the Netherlands.

The fleet of electric ferries of the Kiel tug and ferry company has grown by another passenger ferry in the last few days. The new ferry “Dietrichsdorf”, which will be used on the Schwentine line in the future, has been transferred from the construction yard in the Netherlands to Kiel on the Hörn and is now in the SFK’s operating port on the Kieler Hörn. The new passenger ferry is a completely electrically operated ferry, which will be seen on the Kiel Fjord in the future alongside the two existing electric ferries Düsternbrook and Wellingdorf.

On the Schwentineline, the SFK passenger ferries run from Monday to Saturday between the Reventlou pier at the Reventlou Bridge on the west bank to the Kiel east bank at the Schwentine estuary with the two pier Dietrichsdorf and Wellingdorf. The three electric ferries Düsternbrook, Dietrichsdorf, Wellingdorf and the diesel ferry Schwentine are used on this line.
