The KVG gradually stopped bus services on Friday evening (January 5th, 2024) due to slippery roads and snow in the city area.
Due to the ongoing snowfall, there were massive restrictions on regular services. Holtenau, Schilksee, Strande and Laboe could no longer be served since 7.30 p.m. At 7:50 p.m., the Kieler Verkehrsgesellschaft (KVG) announced on its website that all scheduled services on Friday evening would be gradually discontinued. Accordingly, some of the buses still run to the final stops if this is still possible due to the road conditions. The buses will then return to the depot.
No night buses on the night of Friday to Saturday
In an update at 10 p.m., the KVG further announced that operations will most likely only slowly resume on Saturday morning around 4:30 a.m., provided the weather and road conditions allow it. This means that the night buses will not run that night either.
