Naval Base Kiel-Wik Open Ship 2021 during the Kiel Week: The Open Day will take place again this year at the Kiel Naval Base in the Wik.
On the occasion of this year’s Kiel Week, which due to Corona is taking place in September as in the previous year and not at the end of June as usual, the German Navy at the Kiel site is also opening its doors at the Kiel-Wik naval base. On Saturday, September 4th, 2021, the naval ships and naval units can be visited in Kiel, including at the Gorch Fock Mole (formerly Tirpitzmole). The naval port is located on the west bank of the Kiel Fjord at the end of the Kiel line in the Wik district of Kiel.
Kiel Week Open Ship 2021
Traditionally, visitors can visit the various naval ships, mostly even from many different countries, for several days during the Kiel Week free of charge. This year, the open day in the Kiel naval port will take place on September 4th, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The 3G rule (vaccinated, recovered, tested negative) applies and, as always, there are entry controls if you want to enter the naval base. By the way, this is completely normal and even before COVID-19 there were admission controls when entering the naval base. Due to various rules and regulations as well as an orderly and safe process, there may be waiting times due to visitor number restrictions.
