Animal enclosure Tannenberg in the Projensdorf woods
The animal enclosure Tannenberg is a forest area and is located in the approximately 200 hectare Projensdorfer Gehölz. The Tannenberg animal enclosure is about 40 hectares, the largest animal enclosure in the state capital Kiel and is located in the Kiel district of Wik.
The animal enclosure between Projensdorfer Straße and the driveway to the Holtenauer Hochbrücke consists of a forest as well as pastures, meadows, smaller watercourses and ponds. Hiking trails lead through the extensive forest and meadow areas. And of course the animal enclosure in Tannenberg is home to numerous animal species, including fallow deer, roe deer, mouflon, wild boar, sika deer, highland cattle, Icelandic ponies and wild horses.
Fallow deer and mouflon roam free in the animal enclosure and are sometimes very trusting, especially in winter. The main entrance to the Tannenberg animal enclosure is on the corner of Projensdorfer Straße and Tannenberg (right next to the Waldschänke restaurant).
