The UKSH will close its two corona test centers in Kiel and Lübeck from Monday, March 13, 2023. The closures are due to the low demand for corona tests.

After numerous providers in Kiel and throughout Schleswig-Holstein had already closed their stationary and mobile corona test stations in the last few weeks, the two UKSH test centers in Kiel and Lübeck will be closed from today. According to the Schleswig-Holstein University Hospital, the demand for COVID-19 corona tests has fallen sharply since the beginning of the month. In addition, since March 1st, 2023, when the new Federal Corona Test Ordinance came into force, visitors and accompanying persons no longer need a negative test result to enter the clinic.

Masks are still compulsory in UKSH buildings

According to the university hospital, however, masks (medical mouth and nose protection or FFP2 mask) are still mandatory in all buildings of the university hospital with patient care. So if you want to visit a patient at one of the numerous stations in the UKSH, you should still have a mask with you.
