Tractor demo in Kiel: Farmers demonstrate with a tractor convoy on September 21st, 2023 in downtown Kiel. Around 200 vehicles were on the road in Kiel on Friday.
On Friday, hundreds of tractors were out and about in Kiel city center. The reason was a demonstration by farmers. The tractor convoy consisted of around 200 vehicles. The protest was organized by the Land Creates Connection (LSV) association and the farmers’ association also called for farmers to take part in the demonstration in Kiel. The Agriculture Ministers’ Conference also took place in Kiel on this day. The farmers took the meeting of agricultural ministers at the Hotel Atlantic as an opportunity to draw attention to the various problems in the agricultural sector.

The route of around 200 tractors first led to the Ministry of the Environment on Mercatorstrasse (full name: Ministry for Energy Transition, Agriculture, Environment and Rural Areas Schleswig-Holstein). An incendiary letter was handed over there. The tractor convoy then continued towards the city center, past the Hotel Atlantic and then to the Exerzierplatz. The tractors and trucks were parked here and a demonstration on foot to the central bus station (ZOB) and the Atlantic Hotel followed.
