Corona: Color Line temporarily suspends the Kiel – Oslo ferry connection to prevent further spread of the corona virus.

The Norwegian shipping company Color Line has announced that its ferry connection Kiel – Oslo in Norway will be temporarily suspended due to the new type of corona virus. The regulation will come into force tomorrow, Friday, and will initially apply up to and including March 26, 2020.

Customers affected by this regulation will be reimbursed in full for tickets already paid for, meals and on-board services booked. According to Color Line, corresponding cancellations and refunds are already being carried out automatically.

Since February 27th, 2020, everyone who travels from Germany to Norway has to be in quarantine for 14 days. It doesn’t matter if you have symptoms or not. In addition, the Norwegian government is currently advising against non-essential travel. A temporary suspension of the ferry connection between Germany and Norway represents a drastic cut and of course also has economic consequences for the Color Line shipping company.

The Swedish shipping company Stena Line, on the other hand, is not currently planning to discontinue its Kiel – Gothenburg ferry service.
