The countdown is on: The Kiel Christmas markets open in a month from today. From November 25th, 2019 there will be mulled wine again at the Christmas markets on Kiel’s Rathausplatz, Holstenplatz, Asmus-Bremer-Platz, Bernhardt-Minetti-Platz and in Kiel’s old town on the Alter Markt.

The shelves of the supermarkets have been full to bursting with gingerbread, stollen, marzipan bread and all sorts of other Christmas items for months now. And the Christmas markets will soon open again and offer mulled wine, Feuerzangenbowle, Glögg and other hot and cold drinks at their stands.

The Christmas markets in Kiel are open from November 25th to December 23rd this year. Except for the Christmas market on Asmus-Bremer-Platz, which is also open beyond Christmas until December 30th.

The area around Kiel also has a lot to offer when it comes to Christmas markets. How about a visit to the Gut Augustenhof Christmas market near Osdorf? Another Christmas market that is also worth seeing: the historic Gut Bossee Christmas market between Kiel and Rendsburg, easily accessible by car via the A 210.

Attention, note the opening times: In contrast to the Kiel Christmas markets, which are open daily, the Christmas markets at Gut Bossee and Gut Augustenhof are only open on certain dates, usually on the Advent weekends.
