Public viewing Handball EM 2024: Germany – Switzerland January 10th, 2024 in Kiel main station on a large screen at the entrance area at the escalator.
The Handball European Championship 2024 will take place from January 10th to January 28th. For Germany, all European Championship games are home games, as the European Men’s Handball Championship is taking place in Germany this year. All games of the DHB team (German Handball Federation) will be broadcast on a large screen during the public viewing in Kiel main station. Before the games kick off, there is a preliminary program with moderation and a competition in the main station.
When will Germany play at the 2024 European Handball Championships and against whom?
24 teams will take part in the 2024 European Handball Championship in Germany. There are four teams in each of the six preliminary round groups A to F. Germany is in Group A along with France, North Macedonia and Switzerland. In any case, Germany will play at least the three games in the preliminary round:
- January 10, 2024: Germany – Switzerland (kick-off at 8:45 p.m.)
- January 14, 2024: Germany – North Macedonia (kick-off at 8:30 p.m.)
- January 16, 2024: Germany – France (kick-off at 8:30 p.m.)
After the preliminary round, only the two best placed in each group advance to the main round. Then the main round continues with two groups of six. The same applies here: At the end of the main round, only the two best placed teams in the two groups reach the semi-finals.
There is no entry fee for visitors to the public viewing events of the Handball European Championship 2024 in the main station. Anyone who wants to is welcome to stop by and watch the games of the German national handball team. Due to the weather, the entrance hall in the escalator area is heated. So that the heat doesn’t escape too quickly, a kind of lock was set up at the main entrance with an awning.
