Förde-vhs: Free zoom lecture on the history of Russian-Ukrainian relations on Sunday, March 6th, 2022 at 7.30 p.m.

On the occasion of the current events in Ukraine, numerous German adult education centers, including the Förde-vhs, are offering a free online special event on Sunday evening. The online lecture by historian Prof. Ricarda Vulpius is entitled “The History of Russian-Ukrainian Relations”. What you may not know is that the conflict between Ukraine and Russia over Ukrainian independence dates back to the Middle Ages.

Lecture: The history of Russian-Ukrainian relations

In this lecture, the historian Prof. Ricarda Vulpius traces the conflict and also takes a look at the history of Russian imperialism. Ricarda Vulpius is Professor of Eastern European History at the University of Münster. Her research focus is the history of the Russian empire and the history of Ukraine and their interdependencies.

Participation in the approximately 90-minute online lecture on Russian-Ukrainian relations on March 6, 2022 from 7:30 p.m. is free of charge. This is a Zoom video conference. All you need is a stable internet connection and a suitable device.
