Corona restrictions: Color Line temporarily suspends ferry traffic Kiel – Oslo again. The reason is the Norwegian government’s new corona measures.

The shipping company Color Line has announced that the ferry services of the two ships Color Fantasy and Color Magic, which alternate daily between Kiel and Oslo, will soon be phased out. According to this, the Color Magic will be shut down first on December 29, 2021. And from January 10, 2022, the Color Fantasy will also remain in the port and will no longer operate between Kiel and Oslo as usual. According to the shipping company, ferry traffic for passengers cannot be maintained after the Norwegian government recently decided on new and, above all, stricter corona measures.

The fact that Color Line’s two sister ships are once again not operating between Norway and Germany also has an impact on hundreds of Color Line employees. The cessation of ferry operations also means that around 700 employees will be released. And since the beginning of the corona pandemic, it is also not the first time that Color Line has suspended ferry traffic on the Kiel – Oslo route due to COVID-19 corona restrictions. The connection was temporarily suspended in March 2020 and August 2020.
