Warning strike at the waste management company in Kiel (ABK) on February 7th, 2023: On Tuesday there will be restrictions, including on waste disposal and pollutant collection points.
The garbage cans in Kiel will probably not be empty on Tuesday. And pollutant collection points, recycling centers and the ABK customer center, the ABK house on Kleiner Kiel, will in all likelihood remain closed. The reason for this is a warning strike at the waste management company in Kiel. The Verdi union has called for this, which, as is currently the case for almost all sectors, is also demanding higher wages for the employees of the ABK.
ABK warning strike for higher wages
The core demand of the union is a wage increase of 10.5 percent for employees, but at least 500 euros per month. Apprentices should also receive a salary increase. The union demands 200 euros more per month for trainees at the waste management company in Kiel.
