Drivers in Kiel beware: Parking ban on Exerzierplatz and Wilhelmplatz on Monday, January 8th, 2024 due to demonstrations in Kiel. Vehicles should be reparked in a timely manner.
Due to the planned demonstrations by farmers, the entire areas on the Exerzierplatz and on Wilhelmplatz will be completely closed on Monday. The parking ban applies from January 8, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Vehicle owners should repark their cars by 9 a.m. at the latest if they have parked their car there. Vehicles parked on Exer and Wilhelmplatz after 9 a.m. on Monday will be towed away.
In addition, there will be massive traffic restrictions in the city center and in the Kiel area on Monday due to demonstrations and tractor convoys, including on the federal highways B 76 and B 404 as well as on the L 318. Hundreds of farmers will start in the surrounding area in the morning hours with their destination in Kiel. Exerzierplatz and Wilhelmplatz will serve as parking areas for agricultural vehicles, as was the case in September 2023, when hundreds of farmers also demonstrated in Kiel.
Drivers should definitely allow a little more time for the journey to work on Monday morning. The same applies if you travel by bus in Kiel. It can be assumed that there will also be restrictions and delays in KVG’s scheduled operations on Monday into the evening hours.
