Megayacht “Project Cosmos” arrived in Kiel: Hey, what’s going on here in the Kiel Canal<\/a> and in the Kiel Fjord<\/a>? It looks like a ship, but the colossus cannot, or rather not yet, drive under its own power.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The yacht, which so far has only been called “Project Cosmos”, is a mega yacht from the Lürssen shipyard, which was launched the day before at the Kröger shipyard in Schacht-Audorf near Rendsburg. And on March 9, 2023, the future luxury yacht was already sent on its first voyage to Kiel. This was purely for practical reasons. For reasons of space, the further construction and completion of the 114 meter long and 18 meter wide yacht will now take place in the ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) shipyard in Kiel.<\/p>\n

The transfer of the yacht “Project Cosmos” was understandably the highlight of the day at the Kiel Canal lock. Numerous spectators followed the lock process of the mega yacht, which was pulled by the tugboat Bülk and tugboat Holtenau from Schacht-Audorf to the TKMS shipyard on the east bank of the fjord.<\/p>\n

After arriving in Kiel, the yacht disappeared into a large shipyard hall and will certainly look a lot more like a luxury yacht than it does today when it is next sighted in the Kiel Fjord. However, this will take a while for now. The Lürssen shipyard has so far made no official statements about the customer of the 114-meter-long mega yacht with helipad, atrium in the middle of the ship and a large pool on board. However, there are of course already speculations about the client. Accordingly, it is a Japanese billionaire. The Japanese flag, which, together with the German flag, could be seen on the yacht when it was launched, would also speak for this. The mega yacht, previously named Project Cosmos, is expected to be completed in 2025. Nothing is known about the total cost of the yacht either. As an approximate total price, however, a mid three-digit million amount should come together in the end.<\/p>\n
