Pentecost Sunday at the Kiellinie<\/a> Kiel: On the way at the popular promenade Kiellinie directly at the Kiel Fjord<\/a> on June 5th, 2022 on Sunday afternoon.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the long Pentecost weekend there is also a lot going on at the Kiel Fjord. On Pentecost Sunday, a lot of people used the long weekend and the good weather for a trip to the Kiellinie. The weather on the Kiel Fjord was wonderful, especially in the morning and early afternoon. From around 3 p.m., however, more and more clouds were gathering. Nevertheless, a beautiful day in early June, perfect for a walk along the Kiellinie.<\/p>\n

The gastronomy on the Kiellinie was correspondingly well attended, including the Cotidiano (formerly Louf), the Nordwind and of course the Moby fish bar. Seats in the sun were in great demand here at Pentecost and there was also a fairly long line at the Moby.<\/p>\n

By the way, there were also long queues on the Reventlou Bridge at the landing stage for the SFK Kiel fjord ferries. Because the 9-euro ticket is also valid on the SFK passenger ferries. Here, too, many 9-euro ticket holders took advantage of the good weather at the weekend for a trip by ferry, for example with the F1 fjord line to Laboe, Schilksee<\/a>, Strande or to Falckenstein Beach<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Kiellinie in Kiel is a nearly three-kilometer-long promenade on the Kiel Fjord and stretches from the Ostseekai<\/a> to the naval base in Kiel. The waterfront promenade is particularly popular with locals and guests, especially during Kiel Week. There is also an unobstructed view of incoming and outgoing cruise ships and a very good view of the east bank with the German Naval Yards and ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS), the former Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft (HDW). The Kiel line has ended in the Kiel-Wik district since 2014. It is lined on the land side by a row of boathouses from rowing clubs, canoeists and sailors, the Helmholtz Center for Ocean Research and the Institute for the World Economy.<\/p>\n
