Verdi warning strike: Bus drivers in Kiel are on strike on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 due to faltering collective bargaining for the around 1,600 employees of the bus companies in Schleswig-Holstein.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Verdi union has announced warning strikes in local public transport throughout Schleswig-Holstein for next Tuesday. In addition to Lübeck, Neumünster and Flensburg, bus transport in the state capital of Kiel is also affected by the warning strike. Accordingly, on February 15, 2022 in Kiel, the KVG buses will remain in the bus depot all day. The same applies to all other municipal companies in the country. In addition to many working people, numerous students will also be affected by the bus drivers’ warning strike. Only connections served by private bus companies are not affected by the strike.<\/p>\n

Verdi demands 1.50 euros more per hour<\/h2>\n

So far, no agreement has been reached in collective bargaining between the trade union and the employer. Demands and offers are still far apart. For example, Verdi is demanding a wage increase of 1.50 euros per hour for the more than 1,500 employees of the municipal companies, retroactive to January 1st, 2022. The employer’s offer amounts to a wage increase of 1.5 percent from January 1, 2023.<\/p>\n
