Interested visitors can visit the most modern power plant in Europe this Sunday. There is also a colorful program for the whole family including live music\, a bouncy castle\, an e-kart track\, food trucks and much more. \nThe coastal power plant is operated by Stadtwerke Kiel. The power plant supplies district heating and electrical energy for around 70\,000 households and was put into operation in November 2019 and has since replaced the neighboring community power plant in Kiel\, a coal-fired power plant that generated electricity from 1970 to 2019 with imported hard coal. \nArrival at the coastal power plant\nThe Kiel Coastal Power Plant is located at Hasselfelde 30 in 24149 Kiel. There are various access options available. If you want to come by car to the open day at the coastal power plant\, there are free parking spaces available.
